Storage Spaces

No matter if you quilt, scrapbook, or make cards, your craft room is a special space where you bring your creative passions to life. It's important that your space brings the same level of  joy as crafting does. The best way to do that is to keep your supplies and projects in check by organizing. You can organize by adding shelves, pegboards, and other efficient storage solutions. Effective storage can maximize productivity even when you're crafting in a small space.

When purchasing storage solutions, there are a few things to keep in mind. How often do you use the items that you are wanting to store? If you use the items frequently, consider storing it where you have easy access to it. Placing those items in a closed bin would limit access to the items and slow down productivity when crafting. For example,  if you love to make cards, store your decorative scissors, exacto knife and tweezers on a magnetic tool bar or pegboard on the wall. Maximizing your vertical storage space will keep your workspace clear while at the same time keeping your most used tools accessible at all times.

Consider storing your less frequently used items in fabric bins or plastic totes.Using clear bins works great so that you can easily see what you have inside. You can even decorate shoe boxes to store your items in. Be sure to label the bins so you will always know what is inside. This will help you find items quickly.

There are many storage options to choose from when organizing your craft room. Before selecting storage options, make sure you take stock of what you have so that you avoid purchasing unnecessary items. Check out the last weeks posts on getting started and top tips
