Card Base A popular card size is A2. It measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Two cards in this size can be made from a single sheet of 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. For a top folding card cut down the center (short side) of the 8.5 x 11 card stock at 4.25 inches. The 11 x 4.25 inch paper strips can then be folded in half at 5.5 inches. The center can be creased with a score board or with a butter knife to ensure a crisp, smooth fold. Use cardstock rather than copy paper to ensure that the base can hold embellishments and layers of paper. White cardstock was used for the side folding base of this card.

Card Panel

Creating the card panel is the next step. We choose our favorite patterned paper from “Love Letters.” This is the layer that will sit on the top of the card base. Using Scor-Tape to attach card pieces is easy and mess free. The panel can be made of solid or patterned paper. Be Creative! The sky's the limit with your designs.

Sentiments Sentiments can be cut out with dies on a Big Shot or made and cut using the Cricut. Be sure to save the off cuts from a cut as they can be used to create layered looks. Sentiments can also be stamped or handwritten. The sentiments in the card were die cut from an off- cut of the card panel paper to coordinate.

Embellish

Embellishments can include sequins, glitter, die cuts, pom poms, patterned paper, stickers, embossing powder, enamel dots and ribbon. The cut aparts in the 8x8 Country Craft Creations are the perfect size for card making. Layering solid color papers helps the cut apart stand out. Layering creates a dimensional look.
